The developments in SYRIZA are intense, after the episodic meeting of the Parliamentary Group and the replacement of Sokratis Famellos by Nikos Pappas, but also the deletion of Athena Linou by Stefanos Kasselakis.
Sokratis Famellos, speaking on the main news bulletin of ANT1, repeated that he was surprised by this decision, at the given time (p.s. apparently the Famellos interview preceded Kasselakis’ statements on MEGA, where the president of SYRIZA emphasized that Mr. Famellos was aware of the changes he intended to make in the Parliamentary Group’s bureau a month before).
“This proposal by the president created a huge internal problem in SYRIZA. He chose to create an internal problem, while society has huge problems. My question is why at this particular time, in a parliamentary group that had a very good presence”, stressed Sokratis Famellos.
And he added that “with this move, the president questioned unity and collectivity. For me above all it is unity and collectivity”.
“I have clearly opened the issue of the leadership’s policy”
“I don’t have a reading of personal attitudes. I am neither an ally nor an opponent of Stefanos Kasselakis. I want a big SYRIZA. This attitude leads us to a smaller SYRIZA with an unnecessary division”, said Mr. Famellos, noting that “the choice of the president was wrong”, as it leads to a shrunken SYRIZA.
When asked if he would raise the issue of leadership, he replied that he had “clearly raised the issue of the politics of the leadership”.
In disparaging the conflict between Pavlos Polakis and Athena Linou, Sokratis Famellos emphasized that the activity of Athena Linou cannot be correlated with the behavior of Pavlos Polakis, which excluded him from the SYRIZA Parliamentary Group.
Finally, he attacked the government, claiming that we have a “disastrous government” and a “non-existent rule of law”, with huge problems plaguing the citizens.
