The gendarmes were called by a woman on October 22. She says she is threatened by a man armed with a golden hatchet.
The scene takes place in front of a foyer in Fameck, rue de Strasbourg. The victim came to see his uncle. The tone is raised: she accuses a neighbor of having stolen the uncle’s money. The latter does not have a bank account so he would have asked this neighbor to recover his pension on his own account and then return the amount in cash. Except that the tickets are slow to be delivered to him.

Intimidation
On October 22, the uncle received a visit from his niece but also from his sister. Both implicate the neighbor and describe his threats. He would have got out with the ax and he would have run towards them. The weapon, easily identifiable, was found in another apartment during the searches.
The neighbor was arrested, taken into custody. He denied everything but that did not prevent him from verbally attacking the victims in the presence of the gendarmes this time. He tried to intimidate them. Without success. They filed a complaint.

Fine days
According to them, it was the neighbor who threatened the uncle to obtain the amount of his pension. “It’s not true, it was all done with confidence. The offense is not characterized ”, exclaims the defense lawyer.
The Thionville criminal court agrees with him on this point but condemns the defendant, absent from the debates on Tuesday, for the threats and attempted intimidation against the two women as well as for the violence committed by brandishing the famous golden hatchet. The forty-year-old is already known to the courts, especially for traffic offenses. This time he was fined 180 days at 3 euros. Or 540 euros in total. The court also banned him from owning a weapon for three years.
