In the early evening, this Saturday, May 22, a 13-year-old girl was seriously injured in a scooter accident in Fameck. The teenager was riding with another 9-year-old girl on an electric scooter, rue de Serémange-Erzange. They violently hit a wall at the edge of the sidewalk.
The two injured were taken care of by the firefighters of the Fameck and Hayange rescue centers and by the Smur of Thionville. The teenager, suffering from a head trauma, had to be helicoptered, she was finally transported by road to the Nancy University Hospital. The girl, slightly injured, was directed to the Thionville hospital center.
Neither victim was wearing a helmet. In principle, electric scooters cannot exceed 25 km / h, but the accident occurred on a steeply sloping street. An investigation was opened by the gendarmes of the Thionville company to determine the exact causes of the accident.
