Fameck. Gas leak: businesses and homes evacuated

A gas leak paralyzed a portion of rue Jeanne-d’Arc this morning in Fameck. At around 10 a.m., while Enedis was carrying out work on the electrical networks, a construction machine cut a medium pressure pipe. The incident required the evacuation of businesses and homes located at the intersection of rue Jeanne-d’Arc and rue de Picardie, including the medical analysis laboratory. About twenty-five people were brought to safety while GRDF carried out the repairs.

Firefighters from Fameck, Florange, Hayange and Thionville barracks were dispatched to the scene, while municipal police officers cut off traffic. The situation returned to normal an hour later.
