“Fame d’Amore” is back with Francesca Fialdini

One in three people in the world suffers from a mental disorder. Seventeen million people, in Italy alone. Young people mainly get sick: three times out of four, the first symptoms appear by the age of 25. And with the pandemic, teenagers suffering from depression or anxiety have doubled. For this reason, in this context of emergency “Hunger for Love”, the docuseries conducted by Francesca Fialdini who for three editions has told about eating disorders, broadens its field of action to investigate all those psychic problems that are registering levels never seen especially among young people: 25% suffer from depression and 20.5% from anxiety, the number of young people who commit acts of self-harm or who attempt suicide has increased by 45%. From Monday 7 November in the late evening, at 11.15 pm on Rai 3, the program produced by Rai Approfondimenti in collaboration with Ballandi, offers a series of evenings to learn about this increasingly urgent and widespread drama, ask the right questions, search together answers and turn the spotlight on all those mental disorders that are affecting our society, and especially young people such as depression, anxiety, self-harm, personality disorders and eating behavior, addictions to drugs or medications, forms of social withdrawal such as hikikomori and other conditions such as gender incongruity, which until yesterday was called gender dysphoria. Francesca Fialdini, tells the stories of boys and girls who are hungry for love, their daily struggle towards recovery, possible treatments thanks to the possible help of doctors and specialized structures. In each episode the discussion with patients, their families, doctors and support staff, through a dialogue that is never judgmental.
