You say in your song: It is a game of chance. Did luck play a role in Batoul Bani’s life? Or did you deserve your successes?
Luck certainly plays a role, but merit is what makes an artist achieve, and as it is said, “Every diligent person has a share,” so we as artists must always strive and work on ourselves. So that we can achieve what we dream of.
You had some prior experience in the world of art before “The Voice” experience. What was different after this experience?
My experience in “The Voice,” meaning with friends and participants, was an important experience. “The Voice” is a talent program with a large following around the world, and this is what made me reach the largest number of audiences, from all categories, but since I could not… To complete the stages of the program, I had to work on myself and arrive alone, so I signed a contract with Arabiannites Entertainment and began producing works, until I reached what I have reached today, and today I am in Saudi Arabia, thank God. Before “The Voice,” the topic was very different. I was conservative; A women’s only domain, but after “The Voice” the topic changed, and we entered the domain of fame and the Arab world.
Humanity is my message in life

The first performance on “The Voice” was a dedication to your son… and your son is with you today after years of being away from you… Tell us about this matter… and how did your life change before and after that?
Yes, I performed the song “Oh Bird, Tell Him” in the first performance in the program, and it was a message to my son, may God protect him and preserve him for me. Praise be to God, immediately after the program, I was able to return him to my embrace. He has been with me for five years now, thank God, and everything has been different since then. A huge difference.
Your works always emulate certain humanitarian and social messages. What impact do you achieve, in your opinion?
As artists, we always try to convey certain messages; Humanitarian messages, because we realize that we are able to reach people more, so we are keen to reach people’s hearts with a sweet word, a beautiful melody, and to move feelings, and as you can see, all of life has become difficult, and we are trying to deliver a beautiful message that moves people’s feelings, through which we help. Because we are human beings and brothers in humanity, we must help each other, and this is my message in life.
Recently there was a song for cancer patients. How did the idea for this song appear?
This topic affects me a lot; Because my sister, may God have mercy on her, died as a result of this disease, which is a difficult disease, and I saw how my sister was tormented by it, and how she tried to confront it, but she did not overcome it, so I tried through the song to say something that would raise people’s morale, as we are all vulnerable without a doubt, and we must We emulate someone who is afflicted with the disease with words that strengthen him, not by showing pity or sympathy that weakens him. It is true that we take strength from the Lord of the Worlds, but we have to support each other even with words. This was my idea for the song, and it is one of the words of the great professor, poet Khalil Ailbouni. May God prolong his life. , and composed by Mr. Fathi Al-Jarrah. I loved the idea and presenting it, because in the end it is a human condition.

Your mother also had a gift for the voice. How was she influenced by her?
My mother, may God have mercy on her, I grew up in her hands to love singing, and I took experience from her in singing and re-presenting old songs, and she was also within a conservative range, and I grew up in this place.
Women’s Goodwill Ambassador… How do you use this title?
As you know, women were half of society, and today they are the entire society. Women today are working and struggling women, and they have a major role in life, and I chose to be a goodwill ambassador. Because I went through very difficult circumstances in my life, perhaps through that I could make the way easier and strengthen each other. The songs that I perform are generally cruel to men, but that does not mean that we can live without men, and each of us has his place, and women play a very big role and have their place, and I chose to be here.
Everything in its time
“Misery is at the hands of an apprentice,” you say in a rush of feelings.. Are you a naughty person?
No… not much (laughs). In times of seriousness, I speak my word and I don’t like manipulation. I can become “naughty” at times, “naughty in the hands of a disciple.” This means that everything is beautiful in its time.
You presented works in classical Arabic and others in colloquial dialects. Which is the easiest and which is closest to your heart?
In general, songs in classical Arabic have a great meaning, but certainly the colloquial dialect is the easy one that is easy and close to the heart.
What work do you dream of doing one day?
I dream that the name “Batoul” will continue, that it will become great, and that it will date in the world of art like adults. Like Mrs. Umm Kulthum and Mrs. Warda, may God have mercy on them. I aspire to create a great position for myself in art, and this is what I strive for.
You have more than one concert in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during this period. Tell us about it.. How does the Saudi audience interact with your art?
I am very happy that I was able to enter Saudi Arabia and begin presenting my humble art there. Saudi Arabia today has wide areas of ancient art, and I hope that my art, God willing, will reach the Saudi audience, and that I will enter their hearts with my voice and my art. I have only just begun here. There will be a lot of work here, God willing, but it is still too early to talk about that.
The life of fame is difficult

Today you reside in Egypt. Why did you choose Egypt specifically?
As they always say, “Egypt is the mother of the world,” and the birth of giants was there, and since I turned to the field of art; My starting point must be from Egypt, and I believe that it is the closest path to emergence and success.
After living in the heart of the art world today.. How do you evaluate this world? What changed in your life after fame and spotlight?
Certainly, the life of fame is different from the life of an ordinary person. It involves fatigue, great confrontations, conflict, and effort that must be made to achieve it. The life of fame is never easy, it requires hard work, fatigue, and persistence. For the artist to maintain his position, and if he succeeds and arrives; He must maintain that position; So that it does not fall and disappear.
Tell us about the work you are working on today?
There is a lot of work being worked on, God willing, at the beginning of the year. I participated in the Egyptian Opera, Sayed Darwish’s Opera, and I performed two songs for Mrs. Umm Kulthum. They will soon be published on social media platforms. Later, a special song for me entitled “Love from God” will be released, and many more. The upcoming work, God willing, but because of the circumstances we are going through in the region, we are delaying our work, and I pray that God will help the people of Gaza, our people in Syria, and throughout the Arab world.
