False Claims: No Evidence of Celebrities Linked to Jeffrey Epstein in Recently Released Court Documents

Release of court documents: Were the names of celebrities such as Jimmy Kimmel, Tom Hanks and Stephen Hawking on the list of people linked to Jeffrey Epstein?

A US federal judge has begun releasing court records containing the names of dozens of people linked to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. However, these documents did not contain any significant new information about Epstein and his accomplices.

And the fact that names are being mentioned does not mean there is a connection to the criminal activities of the disgraced businessman and his partner Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for “sex trafficking conspiracy.”

Nonetheless, this highly anticipated development sparked a wave of fake news, including many false claims attempting to link certain celebrities to the couple.

Stephen Hawking visited Epstein’s private Caribbean island

Among those falsely accused is the late theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking. This alleged screenshot, posted on X, formerly Twitter, purports to show court documents mentioning Hawking’s sexual “inclinations.” He liked watching naked, short people trying to solve difficult math problems on a board that was too high for them.

It turns out that this excerpt is fake, as this exchange does not appear anywhere in the recently released Epstein documents. Even the account that first posted the image later confirmed that the dialogue was fake.

Hawking and several other scientists attended a five-day conference on Epstein’s private island in the Caribbean in 2006, before the sex offender was charged with sex trafficking of minors.

Hawking, who died in 2018, was never charged with any crime related to Epstein.

Host Jimmy Kimmel threatens legal action

The television presenter Jimmy Kimmel also fell victim to this fake court documents. He was alleged to have had sex with one of Epstein’s victims.

However, none of the released court documents mention Jimmy Kimmel. The alleged screenshot shows that the transcript is on page 1,375, while the officially released document only has a total of 943 pages.

On social media, Jimmy Kimmel defended himself against the false claims spread by American football player Aaron Rodgers in particular and threatened the athlete with legal action.

Other celebrities also falsely named as co-conspirators include Oprah Winfrey, Tom Hanks and Elon Musk.
