False bomb threat on flight from Riga to Zaventem: device released again after police check

The aircraft, an Air Baltic Airbus A220, had taken off from Riga, the capital of Latvia, and was destined for Brussels Airport. The aircraft had landed there shortly before 6 p.m., but because a bomb threat had come in, it was directed to a remote corner of the airport after landing, where passengers, baggage and the aircraft itself were thoroughly checked.

Those checks have now ended, Brussels Airport reports. Nothing suspicious was found and the plane has been released. All passengers have left the airport. It is still unclear where the report came in or where it came from.
