Consequences of defamation

“To clarify: These are completely different cases. The accusations in the TikTok video are fake news and completely unfounded. There are no corresponding criminal charges. These are clearly false statements, with the result that daycare workers are now being spat on and threatened. A few months ago, there were accusations against employees of a daycare run by an independent provider. The police and public prosecutor’s office investigated these accusations, extensive investigations were carried out, and as a result the proceedings were discontinued.”

The police urge the public not to spread such content. Spreading unfounded allegations can have far-reaching and negative consequences. Not only does it destroy trust in innocent educators and institutions, it also fuels fear and anxiety based on false information.
