DRACHTEN – The Drachten fire brigade urgently turned out on Wednesday evening for a possible fire at Optiek Smit on the Noorderbuurt in Drachten. The entire store was filled with smoke.
After the arrival of the fire brigade, it soon became clear that there was no fire. Apparently a burglar alarm had gone off, after which the entire optics were filled with smoke thanks to a fog generator. Thanks to this system, burglars have virtually no chance because of the smoke that is blown into the room.
The fire brigade and police were able to resume work fairly quickly after the store was ventilated for a while.
