The acclaimed RPG creators at Obsidian bring out the big guns for The Outer Worlds 2. Fallout creator Tim Cain may be retired, but he’s still willing to lend his development wisdom to the team working on the studio’s next space RPG.
In a conversation with Rock, Paper, Shotgun told Cain about his involvement in the sequel to the 2019 hit. “There are things they’re trying to do in the sequel, which of course I can’t talk about, but I’m getting involved because it’s similar to things I’ve done in the past.”
He continued: “Sometimes I just say, ‘I’m not going to tell you what to do, but here are the pitfalls. Here are some of the huge, huge pitfalls that are in your way that you’re going to have to navigate. “
We’ll still be waiting a while for The Outer Worlds 2, because even though the game was announced as early as 2021, Obsidian has since then been working on the fantasy role-playing game Avowed, which is set to launch later this year.
