Timlo.net—Most of the manufacturers smartphone tend to be conservative when giving their product a waterproof rating. This is because they do not want to be subject to lawsuits regarding the rating. That is why there are some phones that do not get a waterproof rating, but they still function even when immersed in water.
This was experienced by a resident of Vancoucer, Canada, Fatemeh Ghodsi. Six months ago, his iPhone 11 crashed into a lake in Chilliwach in British Columbia, Canada. Fatemeh was told by staff at the lake that it was impossible to get his cellphone back. This forced him to buy a new iPhone. However, his cellphone was later found by divers Clayton and Heather Helkenberg. The two were currently diving to the surface of the lake, he wrote Ubergizmo, Monday (8/3).
Clayton reveals even though the cellphone is dirty, the microphone and speakerthe phone is broken but the phone can still be turned on. Apart from that the cellphone still works. They inserted a new SIM card and found Fatemeh’s contact address. Initially Fatemeh thought that the diver’s phone calls were a kind of teacher. But he still went to Chilliwack to get his cell phone.
It is not the first time someone has lost an iPhone in the lake which was later found to be functional. Of course this doesn’t mean you can dive with your iPhone.
