This year the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) is celebrating its 50th anniversary and that is happening because of corona in a different form, namely online. The anniversary is a good reason to look at people’s experiences with the IFFR when it was still the old-fashioned place to fall in love, meet a hero and party. Bart was a volunteer at the festival in 2011 and ran into Nazanin. Nazanin can still remember their first date at the IFFR. “It was very special, a concert with film music in the Cruise Terminal Rotterdam. During the concert you had a view of the Maas and the setting sun. And then it started to snow! It was very romantic.”
