Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The discourse on the extension of the Emergency PPKM has made businesspeople nervous and full of uncertainty. The reason is that it will increase the burden of cash flow for entrepreneurs who have to incur operational costs while there is no income, especially in the non-essential and critical sectors.
“For entrepreneurs, this has entered the emergency category too, because cashflow sincreasingly dying while the opportunity to get turnover and profit is uncertain. Entrepreneur psychology must be very restless, anxious to think about what will happen to his business in the future if pandemIt’s getting longer,” said Sarman Simanjorang, chairman of the DPD HIPPI Jakarta Province, in an official statement, Thursday (15/7/21).
If the Emergency PPKM is really extended, it will be a dilemma for entrepreneurs, especially MSMEs. Anyone can survive with cashflow which is already very thin, but there is a possibility of rationalizing by laying off employees and laying off employees, even at the most extreme closing their businesses. However, all will return to the resilience of each business sector.
“If this Covid is still prolonged and there is no certainty, of course, slowly and surely it is just a matter of time, more entrepreneurs will fall, especially MSME actors who are very vulnerable to this condition,” said Sarman.
The extension of this emergency PPKM will also have a major impact on the slowdown in economic recovery and growth. The economic growth target in the second quarter of 2021, which is targeted at 7%, will certainly not be achieved, but only in the range of 3-4%.
This condition will affect the economic growth target in the third quarter of 2021, which is targeted at 4% and in the fourth quarter of 2021 at 4.6%. So that the projection of Indonesia’s economic growth in 2021 is in the range of 3.7% below the initial target in the range of 4.5-5%. That is also with a note that in September the Covid 19 case had slanted, so that various business activities had started to operate and were excited.
“Although the Covid-19 number is still high, we hope that in the future it will slowly decline to its lowest point. Law enforcement and sanctions must still be given firmly to anyone who violates the emergency PPKM without exception,” he said.
However, he fully supports this policy, to control and suppress the spread of Covid 19, which is currently still high and worrying.
