The boy got stuck in the container while playing hide and seek with his friends in Chittagong, Bangladesh on January 11.
After falling asleep, he was locked in a container and sailed the container ship Integra across the Indian Ocean the next day.
He was found by port staff and Malaysian police in Port Klang almost a week later, on January 17, exhausted, dehydrated and crying for food.
The boy, identified only as Fahim, was found with a fever and was taken to the nearby Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital for treatment, where his condition was described as stable.

Fahim was found after a staff member heard a knock on one of the containers. The Marine Police Force, the local Immigration Department and the Health Department then came to investigate.
Fahim was filmed getting out of the crate surrounded by staff and local authorities. In the video, he is clearly dehydrated and confused, and cannot speak the local language.
He spoke to appear to the officers before being placed on a stretcher, taken out, and covered in a blanket.
Fahim was then taken to the hospital, where he remains for now.
