Lucinda “Luce” Price has seventeen years and a seemingly normal life, at least until she is accused of the death of a boy. Blamed for a crime she didn’t commit, the young girl is sent to the strict Sword & Cross reform school where she soon finds herself being courted by two mysterious students to whom she feels, eerily, connected. Isolated and haunted by strange visions, she Luce begins to unravel the secrets of her past and discovers that the two men are fallen angels who have been vying for her love for centuries. A truth that leads Luce to have to clarify her own feelings and to decide which side to take while an epic battle between Good and Evil takes place… Oscar-nominated Australian director Scott Hicks (whom we remember for 1996’s “Shine” and for the most recent “I searched for your name” 2012) directs, from a screenplay by Michael Ross, the film adaptation of the first of the four novels of the international best-selling young adult saga written by the American Lauren Kate, published in Italy by Rizzoli, which has become one of the major publishing phenomena in recent years. The protagonists are Addison Timlin (who we remember in the TV series “Californication” and in the film “Derailed – Lethal Attraction” 2005), Jeremy Irvine (“The Two Ways of Destiny” 2013, “War Horse” 2011) and Harrison Gilberto (“Need For Speed” 2014). Next to them Joely Richardson (“Millennium – Men who hate women” 2011).
