Fall asleep and not wake up: the most critical period for the work of internal organs is from 4 to 5 in the morning

The most critical period for the work of internal organs is from 4 to 5 in the morning

A person is mortal, and if it were possible to choose how to go to the next world, most likely, most would want to just fall asleep and not wake up. But, unfortunately, cardiac arrest in a dream is becoming the cause of death of an increasing number of young people who had not encountered cardiovascular problems before.

– In the early 1980s, American cardiologists drew attention to the mysterious deaths of emigrants from Southeast Asia. In a short time, several dozen young healthy men suddenly died in their sleep, and at some point it became impossible to explain this only by the stress of moving, – says cardiologist Sergey Gromov. – The autopsy showed symptoms of an arrhythmia, but what provoked it was not clear. A few years later in the Netherlands, Pedro Brugada, studying similar cases, discovered a similarity – a certain ECG pattern of patients. So the syndrome of sudden cardiac arrest in a dream was named after him.

This is a mutation of the SCN5A gene, which is manifested by arrhythmia and is recognized only on the electrocardiogram. Brugada syndrome has been diagnosed in both three-year-old children and the elderly, but more often men aged 30-45 die from it. And in general, in Russia, the syndrome occurs in 1-5 people per 10 thousand of the population, with a clear increase in frequency in the southern regions.

In general, the disease is rare. But recently, a terrible syndrome affects more and more people who have no prerequisites for this. The fact is that by 4 – 5 o’clock in the morning, when a person, as a rule, leaves the deep sleep mode, cardiac activity slows down. At this point, failures in the work of all organs and life support systems may occur. It is clear that for people with hypertension, coronary disease, arrhythmia and other cardiovascular problems, this is a critical period. But disturbances in the functioning of the body can also be associated with malnutrition, overweight, low mobility (after all, many sit at the computer for hours), and other bad habits. So it’s worth reconsidering your lifestyle if you don’t want (excuse the cynicism) to fall asleep forever ahead of time.

And the heart is anxious in the chest

Do not postpone a visit to a cardiologist if at least a couple of times you noted something from this list:

  • Rapid or slow heartbeat.
  • Decreased blood pressure after exercise.
  • Sudden dizziness, and even more so loss of consciousness.
  • Unrelated increased sweating.
  • Snoring with cessation of breathing, especially in the early hours of the morning.
  • Paleness or blueness of the skin.

Council

  1. Do not think that only old people die from cardiac arrest in their sleep. This cause of death is “getting younger”. The share of women and children in the sad statistics is slightly less.
  2. Sudden stop – the cause of death of every third woman who died from a cardiovascular disease.
  3. The work of the heart in infants can be disrupted due to abnormal pregnancy or complications in childbirth.
  4. Tragedies happen even to teenagers who do not have anomalies, especially if there have already been similar cases in the family.
  5. Physical activity and proper nutrition are extremely important for the heart to function smoothly.
  6. If there is not enough willpower to do exercises daily, then at least:
  7. Play outdoor games with your kids.
  8. Walk up the stairs.
  9. Clean up more often.
  10. Get off one stop early and walk.
  11. If not far away, bike to work.
  12. Down with trans fats (found in margarine, chips, fast food, etc.), salt and sugar.
  13. We consume a balanced amount of proteins, fats, carbohydrates and a lot of fruits.
  14. One in ten schoolchildren in the world is overweight, and this is a sharp increase in the risk of heart problems.
  15. You can not completely give up your favorite and even harmful products.
  16. Reduce the portion and frequency of unhealthy foods, and eat the right foods more often.
  17. Try to find a substitute: for example, eat fruits or dried fruits instead of sweets.
