Fake Windows 11 installers contain malware

Although the premiere of the update containing the long-awaited Windows 11 will take place this year, there are still many people who want to check the capabilities of the new system in advance. Microsoft, by limiting the availability of pre-release test versions of the software, caused many impatient users to search for the installer in unofficial sources. This fact was taken advantage of by cybercriminals who attach malicious software to the prepared packages.

Most often they contain “cracked” installation files of real Windows 11, which, under the guise of Microsoft’s software, request access to administrator privileges on the computer. They then quickly download and install more viruses. Among them are malware and password-stealing Trojans.

Experts from the Kasperksy Lab company warn not to download, let alone run installers from suspicious sources. Windows 11 should hit users in October this year, it’s just worth waiting for this short period.
