Among the forged vaccination passports that were offered for sale in several groups on the Telegram messenger service, there are also copies that, according to the stamp, come from the Frankenthal vaccination center. This is reported by Südwestrundfunk with reference to research by the ARD magazine Report Mainz.
The city administration of Frankenthal announced that they had not yet had any knowledge of forged vaccination passports. But there are several signs by which the forgery can be recognized. For example, a spelling mistake was discovered in a stamp: Instead of “Frankenthal” it says “Franknthal”. There is also a special category for Covid-19 vaccinations, which have not yet been included in real ID cards. It was to be expected that there would be attempts at fraud as soon as vaccinated people received certain privileges, says vaccination coordinator Frank Rickert. However, he assumes that those who buy the wrong vaccination certificate would not get vaccinated anyway. “I hope these are only isolated cases.”
