There’s been a stir on social media about Bugatti-style cars having problems on the streets of Depok, West Java. The ‘Bugatti’ in Depok experienced problems with the right front tire.
The front tire on the right side of the car appears bent. Head of Depok Metro Police Traffic Unit, Commissioner Multazam Lisendra, said the car did not have an accident but stopped because the tire broke due to technical problems.
“The tire was broken. Technical problems,” said Kompol Multazam, quoted by detikNews.
At first glance it might look like a Bugatti. But it turns out, the ‘sports’ car that had problems in Depok was a replica of a Bugatti.
According to the President Director of luxury car importer Prestige Image Motorcars, Rudy Salim, who introduced the Bugatti Veyron in Indonesia some time ago, the car that experienced problems in Depok was a Bugatti replica. He believes the car is not a genuine Bugatti hypercar.
“The easiest way is to see the legs, the brakes and disc brakes are wrong. The proportion design of the A pillar is not appropriate, the main ‘C shape’ line is also messy. The C shape door area for the Chiron is very distinctive,” explained Rudy to detikOto, Sunday (3/ 3/2024).
“Just the brakes and disc brakes are already very inconsequential. The disc brakes should be very big. The front disc brake (diameter) is 42 cm, the rear disc brake is 40 cm,” continued Rudy.
The police asked the public not to test vehicles on public roads because it is dangerous. Kompol Multazam said that this could cause problems for yourself and others.
“Don’t test your vehicle on public roads, it will cause problems for other road users, officers and yourself. It’s dangerous. Make sure it’s roadworthy and use an official or certified repair shop,” said Multazam.
