Jakarta

Three Indonesian representatives were declared defeated walkover (WO) from the event All England 2021. It is not yet known what the reason is, but Fajar Alfian touched on injustice.

The All England 2021 event has started at the Birmingham Arena, Wednesday (17/3/2021) local time. Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo / Marcus Fernaldi Gideon became the first Indonesian representatives to appear and managed to beat Matthew Clare / Ethan Van Leeuwen from England with a score of 21-12, 19-21, 21-9.

In the Indonesian men’s singles sector there is Jonathan Christie. He made it to the second round after eliminating Thailand’s men’s singles, Kunlavut Vitidsarn, with a score of 21-13, 24-22.

Mohammad Ahsan / Hendra Setiawan also qualified for the second round. He overcame fierce resistance from Ben Lane / Sean Vendy from England through rubber games 21-18, 19-21, 21-19.

There should still be three Indonesian representatives competing on the same day, namely Fajar Alfian / Muhammad Rian Ardianto vs Godwin Olofua / Anuoluwapo Juwon Opeyori, Praveen Jordan / Melati Daeva Oktavianti vs Dhruv Kapila / Jakkampudi Meghana, and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting vs Thomas Rouxel.

However, according to the description in the schedule on the BWF website and Turnament software, the match does not break with only a walkover statement. Fajar Alfian then uploaded a photo of the BWF logo on his personal Instagram account @ fajaralfian95 along with a caption “Unfair”.
