Indonesia fielded Fajar/Rian to face Olympic gold pair Lee Yang/Wang Chi-Lin in the second party of the final Group A match Thomas Cup, at Ceres Arena, Wednesday (13/10/2021).
In addition to preparation, they bring capital to an unbeaten meeting record in the three matches they played against Lee/Wang in 2019.
Unfortunately, Fajar/Rian, who went all out in the first and second games, failed to maintain their advantage after forcing the Taiwanese doubles to play rubber. Fajar/Rian also had to settle for a score of 26-28, 21-16, 14-21 after playing 64 minutes.

Fajar/Rian’s defeat in the second party made Indonesia versus Taiwan a 1-1 draw. The world number seven pair hopes that their teammates can perform better to secure Indonesia’s position, which is now firmly in 1st place in the provisional group standings. Thomas Cup 2020.
Currently, Indonesia’s second single Jonatan Christie is struggling to face Wang Tzu Wei in the third party.
“Hopefully for the next match our friends can score points and win the match,” Fajar hoped.
“The important thing is that we have to support because we have already played and this is a team so cohesiveness must be improved and support each other. Hopefully Indonesia can win and can qualify for the next round,” he added.
