Dawn Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto won a landslide victory in the fourth party Thomas Cup 2020. Indonesia vs Thailand is now a 2-2 draw.
In the 2020 Thomas Cup Group A match at Ceres Arena, Monday (11/10/2021) evening WIB, Fajar/Rian won 21-9, 21-12 over Natthapat Trinkajee/Tanupat Viriyangkura within 30 minutes.
Fajar/Rian immediately accelerated from the beginning of the first game. With fast play, they were 11-3 up at the interval.
After the interval, Fajar/Rian became more and more unstoppable. They took six straight points to lead 17-4. Fajar/Rian secured the first game with a score of 21-9 through Fajar’s punch.
Fajar/Rian were left 1-3 at the start of the second game. They then snatched four straight points to take a 7-4 lead. Fajar / Rian closed the interval with an 11-6 advantage after Fajar’s blow could not be returned by the opponent.
After the interval, Fajar/Rian continued to maintain their lead even though Trinkajee/Viriyangkura had approached 14-11. Fajar/Rian then won six consecutive points to reach match points. Fajar’s return which outwit the opponent then gave victory to the Indonesian pair.
The fifth party will compete in the men’s singles number. Shesar Hiren Rhustavito will face Adulrach Namkul.
