Jakarta –
Dawn Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto sorry after failing to win Korea Open 2022. They said they were disappointed with the results.
Dawn/Rian who appeared in the final of the BWF Super 500 tournament had to acknowledge the superiority of the host, Kang Min Hyuk / Seo Seung Jae at the Palma Indoor Stadium, Suncheon, Sunday (10/4/2022).
The Swiss Open 2022 champion surrendered with a score of 21-19, 15-21, 18-21 to Min Hyuk/Seung Jae. Fajar/Rian also admitted to being disappointed while apologizing to the Indonesian people.
“Thank God we have finished this match. But we are disappointed with the result, not what was expected but in the future how we will rise in the future,” said Fajar in a PBSI release.
“We apologize to all Indonesian people, both those who support directly and those in the country because they have not been able to give the championship title. Thank you for your support and prayers so far, hopefully we can do better in the future,” he continued.
Dawn/Rian said he would improve his performance for the next tournament, especially his stamina and composure.
“We will continue to improve what is lacking and of course the spirit will continue. Especially in stamina, physicality and composure,” said Fajar.
“In today’s match, we lost the front ball, yes, that’s one thing that must be improved if we meet them again,” Rian replied.
In particular, Fajar/Rian also evaluates his performances in the last four months, namely the German Open (top 16), All England (top 32), Swiss Open (winner), and Korea Open (runner up).
“In terms of appearances in Korea, we judged that we were good enough to be able to enter the final even though we didn’t manage to defend the title,” said Fajar.
“In the first two tournaments we had poor results but in Switzerland we managed to get back up and win, it added confidence and even though we didn’t win here, just getting to the final has been an additional motivation for us going forward,” Rian add.
It is certain that Indonesia will not be in the BWF World Tour Super 500 level after previously Jonatan Christie failed to win. Jojo was defeated by China’s Weng Hong Yang 21-12, 19-21, 15-21.
