Indonesian men’s doubles Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto beat Taiwanese representatives, Lee Jhe-Huei/Yang Po-Hsuan with a score of 21-16, 21-14 to qualify for the round of 16 Indonesia Masters 2024 at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (23/1) afternoon WIB.
Fajar/Rian appeared less convincing at the start of the first game of the first round of the Indonesia Masters 2024. This gave Lee/Yang a narrow 5-4 lead.
Fajar/Rian still often feels embarrassed when returning the shuttlecock. The points scored were tied at 9-9 even though Fajar/Rian were ahead 9-7.
Even though they continue to face fierce resistance, Fajar/Rian can wait; narrow 11-10 during the first game interval.
Lee/Yang again tries to pressure Fajar/Rian. It’s just that these efforts don’t produce results because of mistakes that are often made by yourself.
As a result, Faja/Rian were actually able to increase their lead to 17-14 and finally closed the first game with a five-point margin, 21-16.
Fajar/Rian opened the second game with a 2-0 lead. However, Lee/Yang were actually able to win five points in a row to take a 5-2 lead.
Fajar/Rian, who were originally left behind, were slowly able to find their rhythm again. Fajar/Rian’s pressing game overwhelmed Lee/Yang until they ended up trailing 7-8.
Fajar/Rian continued to control the game to close the second game interval with a score of 11-9.
The third seeded pair appeared increasingly confident after the interval. Fajar/Rian were even able to lead with a margin of five points, 17-12. Lee/Yang could no longer stop Fajar/Rian’s steps, who closed the second game with a score of 21-14.
