Fajar/Rian were the only ones to qualify for the quarter-finals out of the six ‘Red-White’ representatives who appeared in the round of 16 yesterday. Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, Putri Kusuma Wardani, Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Rambitan, Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti, and Gregoria Mariska Tunjung stopped in their tracks.
In today’s quarterfinals, Fajar/Rian will face Malaysian men’s doubles Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzudin. The two of them have faced off eight times so far, with Fajar/Rian winning head to head 7 vs 1.
However, Fajar/Rian’s last duel with Goh/Izzudin ended in defeat. The world number one doubles were beaten 14-21, 20-22 in the first round of the 2022 Malaysia Masters.
The quarter-finals of the Korea Open 2023 will take place at Jinnam Stadium, Friday (21/7/2023). The series of matches will start at 09.00 WIB, with Fajar/Rian appearing in sixth place.
