Dawn Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto qualify for the quarterfinals India Open 2024. They defeated Danish representatives Rasmus Kjaer/Frederik Sogaard via rubber game.
In the round of 16 match of the India Open 2024 at KD Jadhav Indoor Hall, Thursday (18/1/2024) evening WIB, Fajar/Rian won with a score of 21-15, 13-21, 21-17.
The match was quite tight at the start. Fajar/Rian fell behind several times until finally they were able to equalize the score at 10-10.

Fajar/Rian took a narrow lead 11-10 at the interval after their opponent’s smash did not cross the net. After the interval, Fajar/Rian started to expand their lead.
Fajar’s aggressiveness in front of the net resulted in game points for the Indonesian pair. Fajar/Rian closed the first game with a 21-15 lead.
In the second game, Fajar/Rian were quite far behind after the interval. They are seven points behind at 10-17 after Kjaer/Sogaard won five points in a row.
Fajar/Rian failed to stop Kjaer/Sogaard in the second game and lost 13-21. The match then continued to the rubber game.
In the deciding game, Fajar/Rian performed better. They were ahead 11-8 at the interval and continued to keep their distance from Kjaer/Sogaard.
Having led 18-12, Fajar/Rian were then chased by Kjaer/Sogaard who won four points in a row. They can break Kjaer/Sogaard’s streak of points and reach match point first.
Fajar/Rian finally won 21-17 in the deciding game. In the quarter-finals of the India Open 2024, Fajar/Rian will face the winner of the match between Kang Min Hyuk/Seo Seung Jae and Kim Won Ho/Na Sung Seung.
