This year, one of her implants leaked for the second time in five years. Still, Lourens decided to change it, but she got a complication afterwards. “I also had to take antibiotics. This weakened my resistance and as a result I got corona. During my illness, my prosthesis turned over. The flat side moved forward and then the realization came. My body has had enough of it and gives this very clear,” she writes.

Lourens hopes to inspire others to be happy with themselves. “I want to tell you that you are good just the way you are. You don’t have to change. Not for others and not for yourself. I want to advise you to discover the root of your feeling and heal it in yourself. You are not your body. You are much more than that.”
