Ekonom Senior Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (Indef) Faisal Basri throwing sarcasm at the Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir which will inject capital or State Capital Participation (PMN) of Rp106 trillion for state-owned companies for 2021 and 2022.
According to Faisal, Erick should focus on saving people’s lives in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, Erick serves as the Chief Executive of the Policy Committee for the Handling of Covid-19 and the National Economic Recovery (PEN).
“The Chief Executive of the Policy Committee for the Handling of COVID-19 and PEN is the Minister of SOEs. Instead of prioritizing saving people’s lives, they are busy dealing with hundreds of trillions of SOE injections and deworming drugs. Just disband that committee,” said Faisal through the Twitter account @FaisalBasri, Friday (9/7).
Before uploading the tweet, Faisal shared a news link highlighting the government issuing more PMN to SOEs than the dividend it received.
Faisal previously criticized the government’s policies related to COVID-19. In teasing separately he advised the government to learn from the handling of the 2004 Aceh tsunami disaster to deal with the pandemic.
What he highlighted was how often the government changed policies and commands that were unclear during the COVID-19 outbreak. For the record, the government is currently implementing emergency PPKM after previously implementing Micro PPKM and PSBB.
“Learn from the history of handling the Aceh tsunami. The commanders are clear and full-time, as are the core aides. One door handling. There is a clear, unchanging action plan, “said Faisal.
Erick proposed additional state capital participation (PMN) of IDR 33.9 trillion for 2021 PMN and IDR 72.449 trillion for 2022. The request was made when he attended a meeting with Commission VI DPR on Thursday (9/7).
“From our monthly meeting with the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) this figure has not been found. But it is more or less 90 percent, and we still dare to ask for support from board members so that this figure can be support,” said Erick.
The addition of PMN this year will be given to 3 SOEs to carry out assignments and carry out restructuring.
Meanwhile, next year’s largest PMN injection will be given to PT Hutama Karya in supporting the construction of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road.
Meanwhile, this year’s dividend target is estimated at only Rp. 30 trillion to Rp. 35 trillion, up from last year’s Rp. 26 trillion.
