Fairs abroad 2023: Funding increases

Compared to previous plans, the federal government has increased trade show funding for next year.

When it comes to trade shows, there will likely be a lot more in 2023: trade shows are back in operation – and also as real markets with personal discussions in real trade fair stands. With touch, try, smell and taste. Trade show service providers and subcontractors are again writing orders in their books, and companies are once again planning their trade show attendances in their marketing budget.

The federal government is also following this trend and has increased funding compared to the original early summer plans: it wants to support small and medium-sized enterprises’ participation in trade fairs abroad at nearly 300 trade shows in 48 countries over the next year. It is providing a total of € 43.7 million for this.

Starts January 5, 2023 at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. It will probably end on December 15th next year at Arabplast in Dubai. And between those two dates, you will see the “made in Germany” logo, under which German companies present themselves as part of a joint sponsored exhibition stand, at various exhibition venues around the world. Especially in Asia, where more than 140 joint holdings of German companies can be supported financially and organizationally. But there is also a constant presence in North America – at SPIE.Photonics in San Francisco, at the BIO International Convention in Boston or at Agri-Trade in Red Deer.

In 2023 there will also be joint German exhibition stands on the African continent – in the Ivory Coast, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Morocco and Sudan. And the black, red and gold logo will often be featured in Cairo’s exhibition halls: Egypt is represented for the first time by the relatively high number of seven participations in the federal government’s foreign trade fair program. But German companies can also impress a foreign audience with their products and services, establish contacts and do business in the Near and Middle East, Latin America, Australia and Europe.
