With the modules, the cameras of the device are improved. On the back, the camera lens will be updated from 12 to 48 megapixels. On the front, the number of megapixels is increased from 8 to 16. According to Fairphone, they can also focus faster and track subjects better.

The idea of ​​Fairphone is that people spend longer with their phones. By selling individual modules, people can provide their device with better functions without having to buy a whole new phone.

The Fairphone 3+ is otherwise the same in terms of specifications. The device has a 5.7 inch screen with a 1080p resolution. It also has a Soapdragon 632 processor and a removable 3,000 mAh battery. The phone is made from 40 percent recycled plastic. In the Fairphone 3 this was still 9 percent.

The device costs 469 euros separately. The Fairphone 3+ will be released on September 14.
