Barbara Alder, head of the Basics and Strategies of Cantonal and City Development Department of the Presidential Department of Basel-City, introduced the participants to the topic of the evening. Stefanie Kaiser, project manager and research assistant in the same department, presented the framework of Fair Trade Town in the sustainable nutrition package of measures “Basel eats with enjoyment from the city and the country”. This was followed by workshops in which small groups discussed what Fair Trade Town means for Basel and what the goals of the project in Basel should be and what ideas for implementation there are. In the end, almost ten people agreed to work in the corresponding steering and working group.
