Fair Play TK is the best in the country on the women’s side again. It was 3-1 against three-time champions Enskede LTK when the SM final was decided in Lidingö tennis hall on Sunday.

Fair Play’s ladies were in their twelfth SC final in the last 13 years against an Enskede LTK that won gold three years in a row.
The Swedish champions came to the game without either Pemra Özgen or Sarah Beth Grey. In the opening doubles, 16-year-old debutant Emina Mulisic got the chance together with seasoned Paulina Milosavljevic. On the other side of the net: Tilda Larsson and the Dane Johanne Svendsen who did not make many mistakes and were able to win 6-2, 6-1.
– Me and Johanne have played many good doubles together and know each other well as players now. It was tough at the beginning of the match, but we managed to focus and stick to our game, says Tilda Larsson, who likes this about the elite series.
– It means a lot! It’s a chance to represent the club and play for your team and spend a lot of time with your teammates, she says.

In the third singles on the court next door, 16-year-old Fredrika Runström pulled away against Mathilda Vidgren to 5-0 and won the first set 6-2. In the second, Mathilda broke immediately and had 2-0 – but then four straight games followed for Runström.
– I set the servers, the attacks and the game flowed, so it was nice. Then I had a small dip, I had a little problem with her slice, explains Fredrika Runström.

At 4-2, however, the Fair Play TK player offered a double fault and break for Vidgren to 4-3. Then no more invitations came and Fredrika Runström took the following games and won the second set 6-3.
– It has been super fun to be in the team this season and play and win matches, said Runström in the victory interview in MATCHi.tv.

2-0 to Fair Play TK, who now had one hand on the SM sign. It was after the second single ended that the cheering broke out. Rebecca Munk Mortensen dropped just two games (6-1, 6-1) against Fanny Norin and the matter was settled. In that situation Lisa Zaar had the lead with 6-3, 4-1 against Martha Matoula and it was never finished.
– We did our best even though we were missing a couple of players. Fair Play TK was the better team and it is only to be congratulated. We are second in Sweden, so we see it as if we won a silver. We always want to win because SM means a lot to us. SM is the biggest thing you can win. It wasn’t enough today, but I’m still proud, Enskede coach Jasmin Galijasevic.

With today’s SM gold, Fair Play touches TK SALK’s record with seven golds on the women’s side.
