– It was on December 20 last year that Ahn Cheol-soo, CEO of the National Assembly Party, turned the’handle’. President Ahn, who emphasized the’dissolution of decision’, the preparation of the foundation for regime change, and the victory of the entire opposition in the declaration of the mayor of Seoul on that day, stood at the center of the topic with a strong message on the unification of the opposition candidates. In the afternoon of the 15th, at an interview with JoongAng SUNDAY in Yeouido, Seoul on the afternoon of the 15th, CEO Ahn made a determination to win, saying, “I will hold an election to win the entire opposition party.”

If the regime doesn’t change, the country may be ruined.
Accept any method of unification

The mayor of Seoul emphasized that it would lay the groundwork for regime change.

“The Moon Jae-in regime is totally incompetent. I felt the fear that the country might fall if I didn’t change this regime. Elders from all walks of life also worried a lot about the country, saying,’If we lose the Seoul mayoral election, next year’s presidential election will pass.’

There is a lot of talk about the unification of opposition candidates.

“First of all, it is important to leave the party and the individual and choose a candidate who can win the finals. If the citizens of Seoul agree, they can accept any method regarding the unification of candidates.”

Is it possible to join the power of the people?

“It is impossible in political morality for the representative of the public party to quit and join another party. It’s an extremely unwise request.”

What kind of effort will it take to become unified?

“Both the People’s Party and the people’s strength must open their hearts. The two are not competitors. The only thing that hurts each other now is the act of diminishing the competitiveness of the entire opposition.”

Do you think it will be unified in the end?

“Failure to unify is synonymous with giving up the presidential election.”

The third candidate is also being discussed, including the election of a Democratic Party with former Deputy Prime Minister Kim Dong-yeon.

“It is also beneficial for the development of Korean politics to compete for policy with a lot of people who are well-made. In that respect, I welcome the participation of former Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon and former lawmaker Na Gyeong-won.”

If Ahn becomes a single candidate for the opposition, whoever comes out of the passport is confident to win?

“Of course. I come from a doctor and a venture entrepreneur. Isn’t quarantine and jobs needed in Seoul? I don’t see any candidate as competitive as me.”

If you evaluate former Mayor Park Won-soon’s visibility.

“Unlike European cities, Seoul is like a frog in a well. When I met the public officials, they said that the former mayor did a lot of work for political purposes or personal hobbies rather than for the citizens of Seoul.”

It seems that he is paying attention to the recent image transformation.

“When teaching business administration students, he emphasized that’if a venture company makes a good product, it will sell well.’ That said, marketing is also important. But I think I was overlooking that.”

There is also an idea for Big Tent, who is Ban Moon Jae.

“It’s not enough just by the back door. If you come to power, you should be able to tell the voters what country and city you will create. Even if you win the election simply by opposing this regime, the people will be unhappy. In addition, to win the election, the two opposition supporters, as well as the middle and progressive voters, must be attracted. Voter turnout is low in the by-election, and the Democratic Party is currently dominating Seoul. Even if the opposition candidate is 10% ahead of the poll just before the election, opening the lid can result in a crushing result. So the spirit of the times is important. National integration is now a top priority.”
