Reporting from Ubergizmo, Tuesday (22/6), according to TrendForce, the production of the iPhone mini device is coming to an end. There is a possibility that the iPhone 12 with the smallest version will not be followed by a similar model with the next generation of iPhone 13.
A report from TrendForce this week indicated that the iPhone 12 mini reached the official End-of-Life “earlier” in the second quarter of 2021. The model is said to have experienced disappointing sales performance compared to other models in the iPhone 12 family.
At the same time, iPhone production and sales as a whole aren’t too bad. TrendForce also points to a significantly higher Annual iPhone Production Volume forecast than in 2020 or 2019, on par with or above 2018.
The report is in line with a previous report on March 10, 2021, which had predicted that production of the iPhone 12 mini would be cut. During this period, the Nikkei revealed to various sources that it predicted that Apple would cut production of the iPhone 12 mini “by 70%” for the first half of 2021.
Given these facts, it makes sense for Apple to end the “mini” model and focus on the iPhone to the next generation. But even so, leaks say that there will still be several mini to large models. That is, it is possible that there will be a small Phone but without the frills of the “mini” name.
The iPhone 12 mini was originally expected to be loved by fans all over the world. Its small size, which makes the device easier to hold is a factor.
