The Adler Mannheim lost their last test match, losing 0-4 in Bern on Wednesday evening.
The voices on the game
Tobias Fohrler: “We didn’t come out as we had imagined in the first third, we let Bern move too many circles in our third. We need to be a step quicker and closer to the man. From the second third onwards, the game was more balanced. We also created our chances offensively, and were more physical. The four goals conceded in the final period are obviously unacceptable. We don’t need to discuss that.”
Marc Michaelis: “In the first third, you could still tell that we were a little tired. We were often a step too late, but defensively we were still solid enough to not concede a goal. In the second third, we played much better and actually deserved to score. But we failed to convert our chances into something that counted. The result was perhaps a little too high in the end, but it was still a warm-up game.”
Dallas Eakins: “We played well for two and a half thirds, but then we paid the price. When the score is even, we cannot afford penalties that put us in trouble. The 0:2 result came from a counterattack that reminded us that we cannot afford to lose the puck easily. With this goal, it was clear how the game would end. I was very satisfied with the performance of Felix and our young eagle Dustin Willhöft.”
