Launching games is not an easy task. A small indie project failed miserably, the developer decided to curtail it
On July 15, Dragonspire appeared in Steam Early Access. The game received several dozen reviews, the reaction to the project is mixed.
A week later, Dragonspire developer accepted decision to remove the game from Steam: «I don’t think we made a game worth paying for“. He contacted Valve about whether all customers could be automatically refunded; while offering to issue a refund through Steam support.
The Dragonspire servers did not work very well, there was no regional coverage (only NA servers): the players quickly fled, the developers simply did not have the opportunity to understand what the players did not like – the gameplay itself or technical problems. In addition, Starmi (as stated) is experiencing financial difficulties, the initial investment has already been spent, and new ones are in big doubt.
According to the statement on Steam, the “main” in the project is a regular designer (designer), who hired engineers, artists and other specialists. Now he plans to wind down the current business and educate himself in order to try to come back with new knowledge.
It is not known when Dragonspire will be removed from Steam.
