A few days ago, SKS Germany welcomed ten members of “Unternehmen FahrRad!” to a two-day meeting. What topics were on the agenda for this intensive exchange.
With the alliance of companies and associations, the AGFS NRW offers a platform for regular knowledge transfer with relevant players from the bicycle industry. SKS Germany, recently awarded gold as a “bicycle-friendly employer”, hosted this year’s meeting.
The event kicked off with a tour of the company building, where visitors were able to see for themselves how the production was “Made in Germany”. Afterwards, the group went to the Woohoo outdoor center, which is part of the SKS Group. With a view of Lake Sorpe, the group exchanged views of current developments in the two-wheeler industry and had a lot of fun on the team adventure.
Focus on bicycle tourism
The second day included lectures on the Ruhr Valley Cycle Route and presentations from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. The focus was on cycle tourism in NRW as a driving force for the cycling industry and sustainable mobility. The speakers presented strategic concepts for further development and finally there was a discussion about how cycle tourism can support everyday cycling in the future.
“The event shows how important the exchange between companies, associations and public institutions is,” says AGFS Sales Manager Marcel Spork. “We would like to thank all participants for the valuable discussions and look forward to actively helping to shape the future of the bicycle industry.”
