Jakarta –
Waketum of the Gelora Party Fahri Hamzah talk about the issue of political agreements that are currently being discussed. For Fahri Hamzah, political agreements made in this country are still absurd, because they are not regulated by the state.
“Why in Indonesian politics are there promises of independence on the road to becoming a nation, because civil agreements in politics should not be recognized. In my opinion, it needs to be underlined by all parties, so that they understand the root of the problem because our political system and electoral system do not regulate the scheduling rigid, so because there is no rigid scheduling, who is running now, who is running tomorrow is not regulated,” said Fahri Hamzah in the talkshow Adu Perspective collaboration detikcom x Total Politics, Wednesday (8/3/2023) evening.
Fahri emphasized that there are no rules that underlie political agreements or the formation of coalitions in this country. Even though they are made openly, Fahri views political agreements made outside the election schedule as absurd.
“It’s just as absurd to have people making a civil agreement outside the country’s schedule as people making an agreement outside September 7-13 2023, that’s not there,” said Fahri.
Fahri said political agreements made outside the election schedule were not binding, could not be billed, and could not be prosecuted if they were violated, because there were no underlying rules. Therefore, he considered it necessary to make rules regarding political agreements or coalitions.
“Part of our improvement going forward is to arrange the election scheduling more systematically, the two rules regarding the scheduling method and the nomination method must be regulated by law so that what binds us as a coalition, I once proposed the Coalition Act, right? if not, everything will be strange,” said Fahri.
“That’s why I frankly apologize to everyone who is hysterical and hysteria, I’m sorry, there are no rules. So if, for example, today a party makes an agreement in public and then is welcomed in the regions, it will not be accepted by the state,” added Fahri.
The Issue of Anies-Sandi and Gerindra Political Agreements
The first time the issue of this political agreement became public was when Sandiaga Uno spoke about the written agreement between Anies and Prabowo, when he was invited to be a guest of YouTuber Akbar Faisal. Sandiaga was asked about the clip of Anies’ video talking about not going to run for the presidential election, if Prabowo also ran for president until the matter of the written agreement at that time.
“The figure of Fadli Zon, who may be quite central, finally saw, formulated, and concocted the three factions. At that time, there was me, Pak Prabowo, and Pak Anies, and he concocted it in an agreement he wrote himself,” said Sandiaga, quoted by detikNews, Monday (30/1).
A few days later, Erwin Aksa, Deputy Chairman of Golkar who is also a supporter of Anies-Sandi in the 2017 DKI Pilkada, revealed that there were stories of debts between the former candidate pair for governor and cawagub cawagub. Anies said he signed a loan letter of Rp. 50 billion with Sandiaga.
“The point is, if I’m not mistaken, it’s a debt agreement, maybe yes. Yes, of course those who have money give debt to those who don’t have money. I think so. Because the one who has liquidity, Mr. Sandi then gives loans to Mr. Anies,” said Erwin.
Meanwhile, Fadli Zon also responded to information about the agreement between Anies and Prabowo and his debts with Sandiaga. He confirmed that there was an agreement related to the 2017 Pilkada between Anies and Prabowo, but the agreement had nothing to do with Anies’ debt to Sandi.
“Incidentally, I drafted, I wrote down, there are 7 points. If that’s regional election business. (About Rp. 50 billion in debt) as Mr. Sandiaga said earlier, just ask Mr. Sandiaga, there are a number of other things including those related to finances. I don’t know, what I do know is at the beginning it was me who drafted the agreement for the DKI Pilkada,” said Fadli, Monday (6/1).
On the same occasion, Prabowo Subianto conveyed the issue of clean and dirty politics during his speech on the 15th anniversary of Gerindra. Prabowo’s expression during his speech seemed to be insinuating that someone could not keep his promise.
“Some say Prabowo is often lied to, Prabowo is often betrayed, there is no problem! The important thing is that Prabowo is not lying and not betraying,” said Prabowo, Monday (6/1).
