MUI call
The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) called on the Indonesian people, especially Muslims, to boycott French products.
MUI calls for this to respond that President Emmanuel Macron still insists on not apologizing to Muslims for the controversy over the caricature of the Prophet Muhammad.
“Boycotting all products originating from the French state and urging the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to exert strong pressure and warnings to the French Government,” said MUI Deputy Chairman KH Muhyiddin Junaidi, quoted by Suara.com from Antara, Friday (10/30/2020).
Muhyiddin added that his party asked the Indonesian Government to temporarily withdraw the Indonesian Ambassador in Paris, France, until Macron apologized to Muslims around the world.
“Muslims do not want to make enemies, but only want to live side by side in peace and harmony,” he said.
In addition, he also asked Macron to immediately stop all acts of insult and harassment against the Prophet Muhammad.
