Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Deputy Chairperson of the Gerindra Party Board of Trustees Fadli Zon not yet active again on social media Twitter. Fadli looks absent after receiving a warning from the General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto related to criticism of President Joko Widodo.
Fadli’s last tweet was uploaded on Saturday (13/11) at 17:51 WIB. At that time, Fadli commented on the news CNNIndonesia.com entitled “The Barren Face of Papua’s Forest Photographed by NASA Satellites”.
“Deforestation is real,” Fadli tweeted, citing the news.
After the tweet, there was only one Fadli activity on Twitter. He retweeted @zarazettirazr’s tweet commenting on the police statement about terrorists planting 4 hectares of date trees in Lampung.
Previously, Fadli seized the public’s attention when commenting on Jokowi’s activities at the Mandalika International Circuit. Fadli mentioned the flood in Sintang, West Kalimantan which has not subsided after 3 weeks.
“It’s amazing, sir. Congratulations on the inauguration of the Mandalika Circuit. When are you going to Sintang, the flood hasn’t subsided for 3 weeks,” Fadli’s money commented on Jokowi’s photo while paving at Mandalika.
After that comment, Fadli reportedly received a direct reprimand from Prabowo. The spokesman for the Gerindra Party, Habiburokhman, said that the warning was sent because Fadli’s statement did not represent the party’s voice.
“(The one who reprimanded) Pak Prabowo via the Secretary General,” said Habiburrokhman when confirmed, Sunday (14/11).
CNNIndonesia.com contacted Fadli regarding Prabowo’s reprimand and the reason for not returning to Twitter. However, the former Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives did not answer questions until this news was broadcast.
