Deputy Chairman of the Gerindra Party Fadli Zone bringing up presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo was the successful team of Megawati Soekarnoputri and Prabowo Subianto in the 2009 presidential election. Ganjar responded casually to this statement.
“Pak Fadli Zon had to say that because he was there,” said Ganjar in Wilayu Village, Selomerto, Wonosobo, Central Java, Monday (18/12/2023).
Ganjar did not want to comment much regarding Fadli Zon’s statement. “That’s an easy matter,” he said.
Furthermore, Ganjar also responded that he was said to have played it safe during the first debate. According to him, the public wants to be given real education, not just gimmicks.
“Yes, everyone can have an opinion because everyone has to see and be educated,” he said.
“But from what I said, I tried to ground everything, sometimes people are waiting for a gimmick, sorry, I provide real education,” he added.
Fadli Zon previously highlighted the first presidential candidate debate which is still being discussed today. Fadli said that of the three presidential candidates who expressed their ideas, Prabowo was considered the most authentic.
“Regarding the content and course of the debate, there is one important point that I want to underline. Of the three candidates, the General Chair of the Gerindra Party DPP Prabowo Subianto can appear authentic as he is. Some say, Prabowo is the only candidate who is not plastic. I completely agree with this parable,” said Fadli Zon in his statement, Monday (18/12).
Fadli said that in the 30 years he had known Prabowo, he said the Minister of Defense did not want to display an image. In fact, he said, Prabowo could have answered Ganjar Pranowo’s question which was considered tendentious.
“When answering an inspiring question from Ganjar Pranowo regarding cases of human rights violations, for example, Prabowo answered bluntly that he had never had a problem with all these accusations. If there was a problem, then it would be impossible for most of the 1998 activists to want to sit behind him at the debate that night, ” said Fadli Zon.
“Fortunately, Prabowo didn’t say that Ganjar Pranowo was also part of the winning team in 2009 when Mega-Prabowo was. I was a witness and author of the ‘Stone Agreement’ in 2009 when Megawati only wanted to run if her vice presidential candidate was Prabowo Subianto. Ganjar was part of it at that time. “Success team. I became Secretary of the Mega-Prabowo National Campaign Team (TKN) and Hasto Kristiyanto became my deputy secretary,” said Fadli Zon.
