The movie “The prestige”
Before reading further and considering the article as a condescending article by Syrians and Lebanese, please think a little bit: the article will not be a critical article on the film, but on the contrary it will be an article on the power of art. and of the artists and the ability to face any difficulty or obstacle, whatever it may be.
The prestige film, which came after a great success in the Arab world, is considered a challenge in itself, and this challenge requires to support it in every possible way, even with constructive criticism for several reasons. producing a film at this level is considered a milestone, so how about completing the film, and most of the actors are Lebanese and Syrian, and this is a question in itself that requires stopping at the union of the artists of the two. countries at this particular time and nothing more beautiful, due to the political and economic conditions that cross the two countries.
We recommend: Fadi Akoum writes: Mona Wassef and singing with the strings of the gods
Beautiful Syria has suffered from an internal war for more than ten years, and the Syrian artist is perhaps the one who suffers the most from these conditions due to the suspension of local production due to security and economic conditions. the Lebanese artist is lost between making a living and getting the lost money from the banks and of course the lack of local production, The great thing is that the film brought a group of actors from the two countries, as if they were coming out of the womb of a pain, and a hope, which is a return to safety, security, tranquility and peace.
In terms of directing, the film is breathtaking and most of its scenes are drawn despite the unwarranted lengthening of some scenes, especially the mending mountain wound scene and the last battle scenes, which did not convince in largely due to its continuation for a longer period of the battle if it really happened, in addition to the Hellenistic method that none of the good ones die In exchange for the elimination of all the bad guys, right down to the last, and many scenes from the film, and I don’t know if it was at the request of the director or the cinematographer, it is similar to many foreign films, most notably the film Good False, with Idris sitting in front of a pepper plant, similar to Don Robert De Niro’s sitting in front to the tomato that grows it with his own hands, because it would have been possible to do without many scenes and the film could have been transformed into an oriental film par excellence, not an oriental that imitates Western methods entali, because the budget established for the film was not small and it was possible to come up with impressive ideas for the Arab viewer.
The text in general is beautiful and is considered a continuation of the parts of the series shown above, but the script writing brilliantly overcame this hurdle, so the text of the film came complete with a not strenuous flashback, but on the contrary, it is very comfortable and puts you in the atmosphere in the shortest possible time. For the other to relieve the atmosphere of gangs, murders, blood and tension.
It is calculated for the film or for the producers of previous series, that the area where the events take place is a tribal area par excellence, practicing smuggling and drug trafficking and other illegal practices, but with controls imposed by the clan and from the origins, especially the question of revenge and honor, but to be honest, it is not ideal in Lebanon and perhaps he wanted the filmmakers to embellish reality, for what is happening on the field other than movies and series, and perhaps those following the course of things on the ground will compare it to the gravity of the issue of revenge in Upper Egypt, which is considered the cruelest in our Arab region.
In general, the film is beautiful and deserves to be seen, but the filmmakers are criticized for putting it on one of the viewing platforms before releasing it in Egyptian cinemas.Egypt is the human reservoir of these works which ensures their success and continuity, but the reactions of those who attended the special show were very nice and heralded its success in Egyptian theaters.
In the end, we repeat that the film puts Lebanon and Syria back on the cinema map, despite everything that the two countries are going through.
