Students from the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH) together with the Honduran Red Cross organized a blood donation day in the library of the Faculty of Dentistry, which began at 8:30 a.m. and ended at 2:00 p.m.

This activity is carried out as part of an initiative to increase blood reserves in the country’s hospitals, especially during times when demand increases, particularly in emergency and surgical areas.

During the event, one of the organizers said: “The participation of students and staff from UNAH and other faculties and careers is crucial to maintaining an adequate blood supply in our hospitals. Their solidarity can make the difference between life and death for many people in critical situations.

It is important to mention that throughout the year, different academic units work together with the Red Cross to carry out blood collection drives, with Ciudad Universitaria being a recurring place for the population to come and donate blood and thus contribute to saving lives.
