That is wrong, the origin of the parents plays no role in the office of the US President. The Constitution stipulates that the applicant must be a natural-born US citizen, at least 35 years old, and have lived in the United States for at least 14 years. All of this applies to Harris. She was born on October 20, 1964 in Oakland, California. In the 14th Amendment to the Constitution Citizenship is granted to all citizens born in the United States.
Such attacks on Harris’ origins have been circulating for some time. In 2020, Donald Trump stated that he would first have to check whether Harris was suitable for the office of Vice President. Trump had also fueled the conspiracy theory that former US President Barack Obama was not born in the USA for years, even after the publication of his birth certificate in 2011.
