Facing the Industrial Revolution 4.0, Students Get Technology Education Supplies

TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – Corporate Communication and CSR Manager Trakindo Candy Sihombing said technology education was the most disrupted field in the midst of the transformation due to Industrial Revolution 4.0.

As the disruption of Industry 4.0 began, Candy said there was an increasing need for the best talent, especially in the technology field.

“Technological progress is accelerating and continues to grow. Unfortunately, at the same time we have to face a pandemic situation Covid-19 which presents a serious challenge to the world of education,” Candy said in a written statement, Saturday (2/10/2021).

In the higher education sector, according to him, technology needs to make various adjustments so that students have adequate provisions to face the demands of a constantly changing industry.

This step is taken to address the new needs that are emerging in the global workforce landscape.

“For this reason, we conducted Trakindo Goes to Campus to provide an overview of the needs and future of the industry,” said Candy.

PT Trakindo Utama held Trakindo Goes to Campus to share Trakindo’s expertise and experience in the heavy equipment industry to students, especially in the midst of industry 4.0 disruption.

This virtual event is a collaboration with Surabaya State Electronics Polytechnic (PENS) and Makassar Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) with the theme “Prospects and Future of Technology Education in Indonesia in the Era of Industrial Disruption 4.0”.

The two events took place in September 2021 and each event was attended by around 250 students and dozens of teaching staff at the two prestigious educational institutions.

It is planned that Trakindo will continue this activity at other campuses, until the end of 2021.

Candy Sihombing explained that technological developments in the heavy equipment industry are currently leading to Connected Assets and Automation, such as Equipment Management, a digital solution that is able to monitor the performance and health of heavy equipment remotely.

Meanwhile Fajar Nur Hendri Winarko, Instructor Technology of Trakindo Tembagapura explained further about Minegem technology or Paint Minestar Command for Underground.
