Facelift of the Jeep Renegade (2022) debuts in Brazil

Jeep has been testing the updated Renegade since last year. Our photographers first discovered a corresponding Erlkönig in September 2021. Reports indicated a planned debut this year. However, the Renegade has already been leaked. This in turn forced the Brazilian part of the company to officially show the model for the South American market in pictures.

The facelift of the Renegade gets a narrower grille than before. Turn signals and daytime running lights are now integrated into the headlights. This made it possible for Jeep to modify the front apron – especially in the lower area. The fog lights are also given a new rectangular shape and are now positioned higher than before. At the rear, the LED tail light graphics have been changed. The rear bumper has also been adapted and has enlarged underride protection and narrower lamps at the corners.

The interior was also shown in the leak and just confirmed a slight redesign. While the layout of the dashboard of the previous model remains intact, the Renegade gets an updated steering wheel from the Jeep Compass. It also has a fully digital 7-inch instrument panel and an 8.4-inch infotainment screen. We don’t know yet if it will come with the updated software, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it did.

There is not a lot of information yet about the conditions and the bonnet. Except that Brazil will do without a diesel engine in the updated model. The 1.3 liter engine will also make its debut in the SUV and it is said to produce 185 horsepower when fueled with ethanol. The basic version will have front-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission.

Which engines will be used in the European model, what Jeep makes new and what is left out? We will find out in the course of 2022. Then it will also be clear whether there will still be one or the other distinction of an optical nature. But we are really not assuming this.
