Faced with the health crisis, Colomiers distributes gourmet baskets

The magic of Christmas takes place in the town of Colomiers less than a month away from the holidays. This Wednesday 1is December the festivities start. Throughout the month, illuminations and festive events will punctuate the columérine calendar.

“It was essential for us, after more than a year and a half of health crisis, to offer Columérines and Columérins convivial times and warm events”, explains Karine Traval-Michelet, Mayor of Colomiers and Vice-President of Toulouse Métropole on the site of town hall.

Illuminations in the city center

From today, the city center will be illuminated with many devices. More 114 candlestick decorations will be installed on the main axes. Rue du Center will be transformed into a Christmas village with a light ceiling 100 meters long, garlands, Santa’s letterbox and planters. The Place du Languedoc and the Bascule will also be illuminated with garlands.

From 3d backdrops will even appear in Place Alex-Raymond and in Square Maquis-Roger-Pierre-Touron. Sleighs, giant balls and luminous Christmas tree will bring a Christmas spirit to the city. a leprechaun Place Firmin-Pons will also be installed and the “Bonnes Fêtes” and “Noël” motifs will be placed on the roundabouts of the Petit-Prince, Gascogne, la Méditerrané and the Esplanade François-Mitterrand.

A distribution of gourmet baskets

Also on the program: a distribution of gourmet baskets the 1is, December 2 and 3. Nearly 5,000 Columérins and Columérines are invited to come to the Hall Comminges to receive them.

Cancellation and postponement of certain events

However, covid-19 and sanitary measures oblige, certain events were canceled Where postponed. “All these times will not be able to be held under the conditions initially envisaged, because we must be cautious, in order to protect our citizens”, justifies the mayor of Colomiers.

Senior Christmas balls, scheduled for December 4, 5 and 6, 2021 are postponed to a later date. While the New Year’s Eve of the citizens’ houses, scheduled for December 10, is canceled.
