The Bordeaux Gironde CCI has already carried out 70 audits of tobacconists in the department
Tobacco sales are no longer sufficient to ensure the sustainability of tobacconists. They must quickly diversify their activities to generate new sources of income. To help them, the CCI Bordeaux Gironde and the Chambre Syndicale des tobacconistes de Gironde will formalize a partnership, on July 7, which should facilitate the transition from the profession of tobacconist to that of a merchant offering multiple products and services.
The transformation of tobacconists has already been the subject of a framework agreement at national level in 2019. On this basis, the Bordeaux Gironde CCI has carried out no less than 70 audits in its department, the best result among French CCIs. These audits recommend areas for improvement and potential diversification of these businesses depending on the location and the surrounding local offer. Tobacconists can benefit from reimbursement of up to 30% of the expenses necessary for the development work, with a maximum amount of 33,000 euros.
