Mark Zuckerberg, the head of Facebook, is behind the plan to rename his own company. He hasn’t officially confirmed anything yet, but according to The Verge server, we should see a new name next week.

Zuckerberg is reportedly pushing for the renaming of Facebook because he wants to clearly separate the social platform from the company’s future intentions. For the last few months, the company has been working on plans for its own metaverse – a virtual universe.

It should be used to present products and play games. It is supposed to be a place where all people will meet, using virtual reality systems. It is a bit of an exaggeration to say that the creators borrowed the whole idea from the book Ready Player One, written by Ernest Cline.
